Clean-up days, Aug. 7 and 8

The Building and Grounds Committee is asking people to plan ahead for RVUUF’s semi-annual Clean-Up Days, Aug. 7 and 8. Indoor and outdoor housekeeping and gardening chores have been planned. “Pick a task, have a fun lunch. It’s a great team effort.” A sign-up sheet will be available beginning Sunday, July 19.

Building a new way was the theme for General Assembly this year and certainly fits what we are doing at RVUUF. Four first-time attendees of General Assembly will share their learnings, ahas and how the experience changed their thinking, feelings and perspectives about this religion of ours.

Supreme Court marriage equality ruling

In a 5-4 ruling today, the U.S. Supreme Court established federal recognition of marriage between same-sex partners. Rev. Peter Morales, president of the Unitarian Universalist Association, issued a statement applauding the decision.
