The RVUUF Endowment Trust is a separate entity created by the RVUUF Endowment Trust Agreement. It is governed by a Board of Trustees and is affiliated with RVUUF. Its mission is to provide long-term financial support to the Fellowship and causes supported by the Fellowship.

Annual Report to the Congregation for 2021/2022

The RVUUF Endowment Trust takes the form of a “perpetual trust” in the sense that it may distribute up to 5 percent of the trust corpus per year and has no prescribed date of termination. Distributions in excess of 5 percent of the corpus in any year require the approval of three-fourths of the congregation voting at a congregational meeting.

Financial grants are made both to the operating accounts of RVUUF and as grants for specific purposes to enhance the growth and vitality of the Fellowship or otherwise contribute to its mission.

The Endowment was founded in 1997 and has grown through gifts and bequests from a large number of members. As of March 31, 2019, the net assets of the Endowment were $758,428.

The corpus of the trust is invested in the Unitarian Universalist Common Endowment Trust (“UUCEF”) a professionally managed pool of endowment funds from the Unitarian Universalist Association and member congregations.

The Endowment is considered noteworthy for its growth over a relatively short period of time and the breadth of support that has made that growth possible. Contributors of significant amounts to the Endowment or to RVUUF are members of the Legacy Circle and recognized on a plaque in the Great Hall.

The Endowment encourages members and friends to contribute funds for the long-term support of the Fellowship through cash donations, stock transfers, bequests, charitable gift annuities, retirement fund beneficiary designations and other means. Persons desiring information about contributing to the Endowment and joining the Legacy Circle may contact the Chair of the Endowment or any member, or one of the Chairs of Planned Giving.
