RVUUF administrator’s office to close Aug. 13 to 19

The RVUUF administrator’s office will be closed from Sunday, Aug. 13, through Sunday, Aug. 19. There will be no “News to Note.” Inquiries by the public can be directed to the Welcome Office, which is staffed by volunteers and is open from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

Lotus Rising is recipient of Aug. 13 offering

Social Justice and Action Sunday’s “third-Sunday” offering will take place on Aug. 13, as many people will attend Camp Latgawa on Sunday, Aug. 20. Lotus Rising Project will be the recipient in August. Executive director Mario Fregoso (he/him/his) will speak during the Aug. 13 service.

‘President Trump and the Constitution,’ lecture by Wolf Hoppe

Wolf Hoppe, an adjunct professor of law, will lecture on “President Trump and the Constitution,” 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, in RVUUF’s Great Hall. Hoppe’s presentation is co-sponsored by RVUUF’s Social Justice and Action Committee, with the Mountain Meadows Democrats Plus Club.

‘Three Women’ exhibiting in RVUUF Gallery

The current show in the RVUUF gallery is “Three Women,” featuring the work of Susan Meek, Annette Lewis, and Kate Cleland-Sipfle. There will be a short reception after the service on Sunday, Aug. 6. The women will be there to talk about their work. Cake will be served, along with the customary coffee and tea.

Here’s a look at services taking place in August 2017. Services take place at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday in RVUUF’s Great Hall. Gathering music begins at 10:25 a.m.

Social Justice and Action Committee seeks new members

RVUUF’s Social Justice and Action Committee is seeking new members. This vital committee engages the wider community through social action and promotion of social justice, and has focused on homeless issues this year. Ashland City Band concert potluck on July 20

Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will hold its Ashland City Band concert potluck, 5:45 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Lithia Park Bandshell (up the street, near the cement wheelchair-access area). All are invited to this annual RVUUF event.
