‘President Trump and the Constitution,’ lecture by Wolf Hoppe

Wolf Hoppe, an adjunct professor of law, will lecture on “President Trump and the Constitution,” 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, in RVUUF’s Great Hall. Hoppe’s presentation is co-sponsored by RVUUF’s Social Justice and Action Committee, with the Mountain Meadows Democrats Plus Club.

Wolf Hoppe has given OLLI lectures on the U.S. Constitution, and the Supreme Court for several years. He moved to Ashland 13 years ago from Bolivia, where he lived after he resigned from his law firm, at age 60, and joined the U.S. Foreign Service as a legal officer.

He has been teaching on the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Supreme Court at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) since 1999. Each fall he teaches a course on the more important U.S. Supreme Court decisions from the most recent court term.

Hoppe feels there is insufficient media attention and, consequently, little in-depth information about the U.S. Constitution and very little information about members of the U.S. Supreme Court and their work. Through his OLLI courses he tries to fill some of that gap.
