Your Neighborhood Team: The Best Way to Meet People at RVUUF!

(Updated January 2024)

On a rotating basis, volunteers on RVUUF’s “Neighborhood Teams” contribute their time, talent, and treats to make Sunday Services possible… and “many hands make light work!”

To establish the teams, the RVUUF congregation is divided up into five geographical locations of where members live (see list below), and volunteers join the teams according to their location.

The Neighborhood Teams take turns (once every 5 weeks) providing volunteer support for Sunday Services, including bringing treats/snacks for Coffee Hour after service, putting out cones to create a drop-off area out front, acting as greeters and ushers, passing out Order of Service programs, passing the collection basket during service, making coffee and putting out treats for Coffee Hour, cleaning up after Coffee Hour.

The Team Leads are responsible for sending a couple of emails to their team in the week that it is their Team’s turn, to remind everyone to show up for the above matters on the coming Sunday.

Neighborhood Team participants also occasionally connect with fellow RVUUF members in their nearby area, if desired, for friendship, carpooling, information, or if someone needs help.

If you’re ready to pitch in a bit on Sunday morning once every 5 weeks, please let one of the Team Leads below know, or talk to Delores Nims, who is the Neighborhood Team Lead Coordinator.

If you are able to be a Team Lead (to make at least 2 Leads per team) that helps so much, in case the other Lead is unable to participate that week.
