Ashland’s winter shelter will run seven nights a week this year and, if all goes well, at one site later in the year.
RVUUF has agreed to continue Thursday nights at the shelter but RVUUF is now responsible for all aspects of shelter that night: an overnight host, breakfast on Friday and occasional dinners. (RVUUF’s former partner, Temple Emek Shalom, is taking its own night.)
All guests will receive case-management services with the goal of housing. This is a new model, like “housing first,” which will not only shelter the homeless but move them into more stable living situations.
RVUUF wants as many folks to volunteer so no one person has too much to do. To volunteer, use RVUUF’s contact form to connect with Diane Werich,or see her after services.
