The current show in the RVUUF gallery is “Three Women,” featuring the work of Susan Meek, Annette Lewis, and Kate Cleland-Sipfle. There will be a short reception after the service on Sunday, Aug. 6. The women will be there to talk about their work. Cake will be served, along with the customary coffee and tea.
Susan Meek graduated from San Jose State University with a double BA: Painting and Art Education. Then changed majors to pursue and obtain an MA in Theoretical Linguistics. Her lovely illustrations were made into notecards and were used to raise funds.
Annette Lewis started drawing in the 1990’s when visiting Sedona, Arizona. She was inspired by the red rocks and serenity of the vortexes. After retirement she began taking art classes at OLLI. She loves to travel and her art has allowed her to look at things with “new eyes.”
Kate Cleland-Sipfle practiced photography with darkroom techniques in young adulthood but lost interest in film photography. Now she uses digital photography in her travels for birdwatching and ecotourism. She loves capturing vivid color and deep texture of wildflowers and wildlife.
