Here’s a look at services taking place in March 2017. Services take place at 10:30 a.m. each Sunday in RVUUF’s Great Hall. Gathering music begins at 10:25 a.m.

March 5: Uppity Women
In celebration of Women’s History Month,” Worship Associate Donna Barrett will offer a message about Sarah Winnemucca and Clara Barton, and Diane Werich will tell about Julia Ward Howe and Olympia Brown, four women in the 1800s who used their talents to help humankind.

March 12: A Spirituality called Compassion
Rev. White will highlight the benefits of living from our right brain, supporting our need for connection to the universe. This service will include the first of four brief reflections on the meaning of RVUUF in the lives of members and supporters.

March 19: What’s Hope Got To Do With It?
Rev. Katie Larsell, executive director of Oregon Unitarian Universalist Voices for Justice, will address hope as a way to prevent being overwhelmed by the problems of the world. The third-Sunday offering will be given to Oregon UU Voices for Justice. (Rev. White is speaking at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Grants Pass).

After the March 19 Service: Rev. Katie Larsell will give a short presentation about Oregon UU Voices for Justice and then participate in a “give and take” conversation. Oregon Voices is dedicated to bringing congregations together around social justice issues. It has four campaigns, Environmental Justice, Economic Inequality, Deepening Democracy and Human Rights, that allow Oregon UUs to have an impact on our state. Find out what Oregon Voices is all about. Tell Rev. Katie if it fits with the mission and vision of RVUUF.

March 26: Keepers of the Flame
Joan Dean, stewardship chairperson, joined by Rev. Nan L. White and the Choir, will introduce the theme for Stewardship, “Keepers of the Flame,” as a kick off to the pledge drive for the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
