Southern Oregon UU Project Internship Moves Forward

Alison Duren-Sutherland writes: “On Wednesday, August 12th, the Board of UUs of Grants Pass (UUGP) voted to move forward with my internship proposal, allowing me to serve our three Southern Oregon congregations, including RVUUF and UU Fellowship of Klamath County (UUFKC), whose boards had previously voted to support the internship. My service as Intern Minister will run from September 2020 though June 2021. It has been my joy to serve as RVUUF’s Administrative Assistant for the past year, and I am grateful that Dawn, our Office Administrator, will be available to take up the tasks I had been doing for RVUUF. To learn more about the internship I have proposed, CLICK HERE for the proposal, keeping in mind that this is a living document that provides a framework for my ministry, which will evolve to meet the needs of SOUUP. I seek honor the memory of Gordon O’Hara of UUGP by serving his vision of a strong and interdependent Unitarian Universalist movement that is a force for good in Southern Oregon. Deep gratitude for the support of my RVUUF community in following my call to ministry. Particular gratitude to Rev. Sean, Roger Howe and Alex Lucaks for their roles in making this internship a reality. Stay tuned, this is only the beginning!” Alison is half way through her Masters of Divinity via distance education through Starr King School for the Ministry. She is recognized by the UUA as an Aspirant to the Unitarian Universalist Ministry.
