Dr. Alma Rosa Alvarez speaks about the plight of the Hispanic community during these trying times. She gives a brief history on why people come to the United States, the contributions they make to our society, and then addresses the terror that Hispanic people are currently experiencing.
Alma Rosa Alvarez has lived in the Rogue Valley for 29 years. She is a professor of English with a specialty in Chicanx Literature. She and her husband, immigration attorney John A. Almaguer, helped begin the Spanish Mass at Our Lady of the Mountain, a worship community they are still active in. In the years of living in the Rogue Valley, Alma Rosa Alvarez and her husband have been members of various community organizations.
