RVUUF President debuts monthly message

My plan is to write a monthly message to the congregation for News to Note. This month I highlight the activity in three areas, organizational infrastructure, communication and programs. Thank you to all of you who made these achievements possible.

I have realized that when we use skills that are fun to use, the activity is not work; it’s play. May you find your way to play in our Beloved Community.

Organizational Infrastructure

  • Update the old policies and procedures and create new ones as needed
  • Update committee charters
  • Review the vision and mission statements involving all congregants
  • Compile annual reports from all Committees, the Board and Minister
  • Upload all necessary information on the website and Google Docs
  • Implement the one year objectives, (sub-part of the five year goals)
  • Developed new membership and pastoral care committees.
  • Neighborhood Teams are doing an excellent job of supporting the Sunday service
  • Plaques have been purchased and we will dedicate Emerson House, the stained glass window, the pulpit and the round bench on Sept. 20.

Communication:

  • Monthly “Listening Ear” conversations with a Board member
  • News to Note beautifully done by Dawn
  • Covenant of Right Relations is improving the way we relate to each other
  • Developing skills to manage conflict better
  • Committee Night with all congregants on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6 p.m.
  • Congregation Informational meeting after the Sunday service on Oct. 25
