Rev. Cat Cox will host a nine-session videoconferencing RVUUF Practice Group, beginning on Oct. 17.
“What makes community work? A core group of leaders skilled in collaborating on decision-making, de-escalating tensions and resolving conflicts wherever they arise!”
This year’s Practice Group theme is: “Covenant and Collaboration.” The group will explore “Real life nitty-gritty questions,” including: How do we collaborate effectively on the board, in committees and in project workgroups to reach decisions everyone can support? How do we reach a workable consensus? What do we do when one or two people just won’t “get on board” with everyone else? What does it mean to stay in covenant with each other when the process is not going smoothly?
Rev. Cox invites you to “Bring your questions and challenges! Make this the year you learn how to say what you want in ways others can hear and offer them the same, so you can get the results you want. Solutions that benefit everyone are possible every time! Deepen your skills or join us for the first time. Newcomers to this work are always welcome!”
All RVUUF Practice Group sessions will take place on Tuesdays, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, Oct. 31, Jan. 16, Jan. 30, Feb. 20, March 20, April 17, May 15, and June 19.
Registration Information
The cost is $60 for the series. Reduced fees are available, if needed. Checks should be made out to RVUUF with “Rev. Cat Cox Course” in the memo line and turned in to Dawn in the office. Please plan to attend as many sessions as possible, knowing travel and conflicts sometimes interfere.
If you would like to register for the full course, use RVUUF’s contact form to connect with Suzanne Andersen.
