Dear Friends,
Here we are at the turning of a New Year. Jan. 1 marked not only the first day of 2018, but the beginning of my fifth month with you at RVUUF. I find myself thinking “Already?!” and “How can it only be five months?” simultaneously.
The good part is that I am feeling more and more at home in Ashland and at the Fellowship. The winter holidays were beautiful and meaningful, from the fun of the Holiday Craft Workshop to the beauty of the candlelight and music at the Christmas Eve Service. I’m entering this year feeling full of life and joy and hope.
This month, the Soul Matters theme is Intention. It feels like a good time–the right time–to reflect upon the intentions we take into a new year. We might also think about how much we practice intention and how much we just move from activity to activity, event to event, day to day without consciously choosing our path. We’ll have a chance this month to consider the power and the limits of our intentions.
One of my intentions as I’ve begun my ministry with you at RVUUF is to be as available to you as I can (while still taking care of myself and my family.) To accomplish that, I’ve decided to continue to use the scheduling program at https://calendly.com/seanden to allow you to easily make appointments with me online. It will offer you times I’m available, put the meeting on my calendar automatically, and send reminders. If you’re not comfortable using it for any reason, you can always call the Fellowship office and they can do it for you.
Also, I’ve noticed that many people in the congregation aren’t available during the day and need to meet in the evening after work and other responsibilities are done. For that reason, my new office hours will be:
Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesdays 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Thursdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
As always, it’s best to make an appointment to ensure I’m available when you come by.
Love will guide us,
Rev. Sean
