Nan’s News: Service focuses on Rev. King’s legacy

A reminder that the focus groups scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 15 have been postponed. Stay tuned for when they will be rescheduled. Your participation is needed to look back from whence you came since the Pacific Northwest District’s Healthy Congregations report of 2013. Begin to think about what has changed, what have you learned, and what do you value that you feel should be carried forward into RVUUF’s future.

This Sunday’s service, Jan. 15, will focus on the life and legacy of Rev. D. Martin Luther King, Jr, who as a young man led our country in a civil rights movement in the 1950s to 1960s. As we approach a new administration in the White House, 50-plus years later, our need has never been greater than to learn from Dr. King and his faithful followers who tirelessly and non-violently worked for justice, poverty and peace for the American people. I hope you’ll join me, the choir, and each other as we come together to strengthen our resolve to resist injustices in the lives of the American people. Our privilege to worship in freedom touches our gratitude for all that is our life, so let us come together in peace and thanksgiving. See you Sunday at 10:25 a.m.
