Nan’s News: Mission process needs your input

Last Friday night I “Zoomed” into a video conference sponsored by the Pacific Northwest UU’s and listened to Rev. Robert Latham talking about the importance of a compelling mission statement.

It occurred to me that as the Writing Team is now working to come up with 4-6 draft mission statements for Cottage meetings in March (and when you’ll give them feedback), their writing integrity is at play on behalf of RVUUF. They are taking a ‘leap of faith’ to try to place a few words that eloquently and honestly describe RVUUF’s identity and purpose in the Rogue Valley. A daunting task but doable.

I hope you’ll thank the Writing Team for their willingness to take this leap of faith (including faith in RVUUF being grateful for their work). The team consists of Marcia Sandler, Mary Rexford, Carole Hesse, and Harriet Berman.

Go to the blog on RVUUF’s website to read more about Latham’s webinar on “mission”: https://rvuuf.org/2016/02/compelling-mission-statement-why/.

For the mission process at RVUUF to be successful, YOU are needed at a Cottage meeting of your choice during the month of March. To sign up for a Cottage meeting, there will be sheets taped on the library windows this Sunday, Feb. 21, where you can choose the best time and/or place that works for you.

Ten people per Cottage meeting is the cut-off to ensure a successful meeting. Please sign your name and give an email or phone number so the Process Team can remind you of the upcoming date of your Cottage meeting and/or if a meeting is changed or cancelled.
