RVUUF volunteers have begun tackling the renovation of the main Religious Explorations (RE) classroom into a welcoming space for Lifespan Learning classes and workshops. Their aim is to make it an open, airy, clean and well-organized studio to facilitate creative learning experiences for all ages.
Meanwhile, several members have voiced interest in offering courses in a variety of topics!
– Seasonal Rituals in Earth-Centered Spirituality
– Intro to Anthropology
– Reflections: A Sharing of Experience from This Sunday’s Service
– Death and Dying: At Life’s End
– Zentangle Method of Artistic Design
You don’t need anyone’s permission to organize your own Lifespan class or series — just go for it!
Tips on Organizing a Lifespan Learning Class or Sessions
- WHERE WILL YOU HOLD IT (RVUUF class room, under the balcony, great hall, conference room)?
- You probably have an idea of how you would organize the room and the number of participants you can manage.
- Also teaching resources available — video screen, Zoom conferencing, informational links, YouTube demos — and what supplies you might provide or require from participants.
- Next consider how many sessions and when you’d like to schedule them by checking out the RVUUF Calendar for availability and avoiding any conflicts with other meetings or events.
- How will you explain your class or workshop series to others? Consider media and communications, ways to publicize and promote participation such as News to Note items, announcements, Facebook or Nextdoor, email blasts, using Breeze to email or text specific interest groups, flyers, posters and sign-up sheets.
- Consider ways to include participants of all ages. We’re especially interested in fun-filled learning activities for families and their children.
Going forward thanks for keeping me, Kenny, and Administrator Andy (office.admin@rvuuf.org) informed of your plans, so we can assist in making it happen!
Less work, More FUN!
