Leadership Retreat Goals for 2022-23

At our fall leadership retreat, the Minister and Intern Minister, the Board of Directors, and the Covenant Committee met to determine our focus for the year.  Our mission is to embrace diversity, empower connection and engage in the work.  As we continue to recover from the crises of the past few years, we decided our first priority is:

Empowering Connection & Reconnection

Our goals to help us in this work are:

Deepening Connection

  • Define who “we” are now and who we want to b
  • Reconnect in meaningful ways
  • Invite new people to be part of the “we” beyond visitor/guest to belonging
  • Connect beyond RVUUF
  • Rogue Valley Communities (Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, Medford)
  • SOUUP – Southern Oregon UU Partnership
  • SOU, RVCC

Centering Our Covenant

  • Remember we are a learning community and learn better when we are deeply connected
  • Remember we learn in a variety of ways
  • Remembering learning is a practice and we will be imperfect
  • Remembering to communicate directly and kindly
  • Remembering to practice humility
  • Remembering to offer and receive forgiveness when it is needed

In faith,

Donna Barrett and Suzanne Andersen
