‘inSpirit’ anthology invites submissions

Skinner House (the publishing imprint of the Unitarian Universalist Association) is inviting submissions of meditations for the next inSpirit anthology of pieces by Unitarian Universalist authors.

This latest anthology in the inSpirit series (previously called Meditation Manuals) will be edited by Rev. Bill Sinkford and published in May 2017.

In a statement on the Skinner House website, Sinkford said he is looking for poems, prose reflections and prayers that will “help us hold both our hopes and our fears as a progressive religious community.” Possible categories include Wisdom, Lamentation, Prophecy, Comfort, Contemplation, Mystical Vision, Engagement, Letting Go of Attachment and Ecstatic Joy.

Prose meditations should be between 200 and 650 words. Poems should be no longer than 54 lines. In your cover letter, please identify your affiliation with Unitarian Universalism and please give details if your submission has previously been published.

Submissions should be sent by June 15 to Betsy Martin at bmartin@uua.org. Complete guidelines are available at http://www.uua.org/publications/skinnerhouse/inspirit/inspirit-anthology-submissions.
