Jackie volunteers with the team that makes dinner and delivers it to OHRA every Thursday. She likes feeling needed. Doesn’t everyone? “It’s heart-warming to help fix or get food for another person; It’s kind of biblical, like breaking bread together. And it affects the whole community’s well-being. It’s really easy – you only have to do 1 little item: like salad, cookies, or a main dish of prepared food. You can even get reimbursed if necessary. I feel better about myself, like I matter and I’m making a difference. And I like to be needed 🙂 This is one way I can ‘Give back’ and show my gratitude to Ashland, to life, and mother nature, for all that I’ve received during my life.” – Jackie Rosen
