A Healing Service takes place at RVUUF on Wednesday, March 30, from 7 to 8 p.m. under the balcony. This service is an opportunity for you, to give and receive of each other, an intention for healing and help for what ails you, causes you to suffer, or brings you pain or sadness.

I will be drawing from a Quaker model in that the Quakers reference the idea of community as healing. For them it is about the quiet and its about being relational.

This service is called a healing service, not in the sense that you can expect a cure of any kind. Rather it is about intention – holding an intention for the greatest good to come to a person, family or country. The idea being that we really cannot know or be attached to the outcome. And it is within this context of community, where everyone can offer their love and support, the intention of healing can take place.

The political climate we are all living in has great need for healing and together we can hold an intention for healing with this Quaker method as RVUUF gathers in community. All are welcome.
