Great Decisions bills itself as “America’s largest discussion program on world affairs.” The program provides “background information and policy options for the eight most critical issues facing America each year and serves as the focal text for discussion groups across the country.” If you’d like to join the discussion group at RVUUF, please let moderator Dave Baker know by Dec. 17.
The Great Decisions topics for 2018 are:
- Refugees and Global Migration
- The Middle East: Regional Disorder
- Nuclear negotiations: Back to the Future?
- The Rise of Populism in Europe
- Decoding U.S.-China Trade
- Cyber Conflicts and Geopolitics
- The United States and Mexico: Partnership Tested
- State of the State Department and Diplomacy
The Foreign Policy Association provides a 30-minute video for each of the topics listed below and also a study book, both of which provide in-depth background and commentary.
If you would like to join this group, please let Dave know by Dec. 17, so that he may order the books. Cost for the book is $25, which includes a prorata share of the the DVD/Video. For more information, or to join the group, use RVUUF’s contact form to connect with Dave Baker.
