We started the Find my Lovey! project to help reunite local children with replicas of their favorite toy/stuffed animal/blanket/item that they lost in the fires. We know that the main needs in our community right now are shelter, basic necessities, and money. However, for children the presence of a familiar item can bring them much comfort during this traumatic time. Families are starting to request items, and we encourage you to check out the webpage and donate an item, if you are able! Also, please share the website and/or Facebook page with your friends and families.
To donate, check out the website and click on the “toy gallery” to see what items have been requested. Click on the donate url link and complete the simple form, which will then show you the delivery/drop off address. Please deliver/drop off in a timely fashion, and inform us if there are any known shipping delays!
If you know a child who lost their favorite Lovey in the fires, please share the website with them! They can complete a “Toy Request Form” on the website and the requested toy will can be viewed by the public. No personal information is publicly shared and is used only for the delivery person to contact the family.
We are not currently in need of additional volunteers, except for people who are fluent in Spanish and can translate items and/or contact families who are Spanish-speaking. If you are interested, please email.
Thank you!
