Several questions have been raised recently regarding the operation and purpose of the RVUUF Endowment Trust. Simply put, the RVUUF Endowment Trust helps ensure a foundation of financial security, allowing RVUUF to withstand any financial challenges that may threaten its continued existence and mission.
The Trust accepts, reviews, and funds grants for special projects to aid the growth and development of RVUUF and the fulfillment of its broad purposes. Our Trust agreement provides that an annual distribution of funds by our elected Trustees may not exceed five percent of the total Trust assets.
Unfortunately, in recent years, your Trustees have been unable to award special grant proposals, as most of the Endowment’s available annual funds have been requested by the RVUUF Board to directly support the operating costs at RVUUF. It is the hope and intent of your Trustees that our fellowship will return to being self-supporting and therefore no longer require the annual infusion of funds from the Endowment. This will allow us to again consider grants from congregants for special projects supporting our mission to Embrace Diversity, Empower Connection, and Engage in the Work.
If you are interested in contributing to the Endowment, please reach out to any of the Endowment Trustees for further discussion.
