Accessibility ramp, new plantings, drip irrigation and stone benches. Emerson House grounds continue to take shape, with something new being done every week.

The Building and Grounds Committee is “xeriscaping” the yard in front of Emerson House. That’s a landscaping method that minimizes the need for water use.

Here’s a photo of Committee chairman Morty Smith at work during a recent Saturday.

In a recent “News to Note,” Building and Grounds Committee credits the “time, energy, expertise and financial contributions” of member Wendy Eppinger.

Upcoming improvements include a finished painting for the Emerson House porch and ramp. That project will depend upon a stretch of warmer weather.
