“Here come the awkward holidays.” For UU World, Meg Barnhouse addresses having to share the holidays with people who “say they love us, but who voted for someone whose policies and promises threaten us and our beloveds … It’s going to be really difficult. Awkward at its very best.”
The RVUUF offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25 in observation of the Thankskgiving Holiday. There will be an early deadline of before 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, for News to Note submissions and Order of Worship information.
At Braver/Wiser, Rev. Robin Tanner expresses the sentiment that “Holding on does not come easy to me. Leaving, escaping, is “a privilege that can kill — and loving does not let go.” Braver/Wiser offers a weekly written reflection by a contemporary UU religious leader and brief prayer grounded in Unitarian Universalism.
RVUUF’s Religious Explorations youth will soon assemble kits of useful items for adults who seek refuge at Ashland’s Pioneer Hall homeless shelter.
