Retreat from the heat and smoke of summer during RVUUF’s family camp at Camp Latgawa, taking place Aug. 18 to 20. According to Krynn Lukacs, family camp at Camp Latgawa offers “some of the best parts about being members of our beloved community.”
The Unitarian Universalist Association’s Common Read Selection Committee has chosen two books for this year’s program. They are: Centering: Navigating Race, Authenticity, and Power in Ministry, edited by Mitra Rahnema (Skinner House, 2017), and
“Laundry Love,” which has an effort in Ashland, Oregon, will be the recipient of the third-Sunday offering, this Sunday, June 18, at RVUUF. RVUUF member, Martha de Aquino and United Church of Christ member, Laurie Carter will speak about their volunteer experience with Laundry Love each month.
RVUUF’s Social Justice and Action Committee presents a screening of the documentary film “Big Pharma: Market Failure,” 7 to 9 p.m. June 22, in the Great Hall at RVUUF. Admission is free.
RVUUF has been operating an “Overnight Parking Program.” The purpose is to give people who have no alternative but to live and sleep in their cars a place to park overnight with a minimum of services. RVUUF has allocated three parking spots behind Emerson House, and all three are currently assigned to guests.
