Ashland Senior Services Division is one of many Rogue Valley partners working with the statewide non-profit AGE+ to promote this incredible opportunity for a community conversation. We are calling on people of all ages in the region to join us to talk about the future of aging in our community. Over the next 20 years, Oregon’s older adult population will nearly double. These changes will radically affect education, labor force, transportation, housing, and health, impacting all Oregonians. In addition, during the pandemic we have seen many of our older neighbors struggling. From poor access to services to the impacts of months-long isolation, gaps in support have become obvious. These struggles go beyond the pandemic—they are a real problem for older adults who want to age in place in small communities like ours in Oregon.
The good news is that we can start planning today for a better tomorrow for all generations. The input from this conversation and others around the state will be used to influence Oregon’s Comprehensive Plan on Aging as well as local policy.
To do this, we need to know what is important to you! Please join us on November 9th, 6pm-8pm for a virtual community conversation about aging in the region. To register, call (503) 408-4752 or visit ageplus.org/register. Click here for a printable flyer to share.
