Bans Off Our Bodies- Sat, May 14, 11am, Ashland Library

People across the country will take to the streets Saturday, May 14, to demand the right to control their bodies – and we’ll join them in Ashland. Make your signs and meet us at the Ashland Library at 11 a.m.

We’ll march down the sidewalks to the Plaza, where we will raise our collective voices against the Supreme Court’s impending vote to restrict access to abortion. Speakers include State Rep. Pam Marsh, Mayor Julie Akins, City Councilor Gina DuQuenne and County Commissioner Candidate Denise Krause. Music will be provided by Women With Wings.

You are also invited to bring your personal stories regarding abortion, written or printed out. NO NAMES, PLEASE. These stories can be pinned to a clothesline strung across the Plaza, or deposited in a box we will have on the site. Stories can also be sent to us at ORD2Indivisible@gmail.com. We will be happy to print them out and bring them to the rally.

This National Day of Action is being organized by a coalition of progressive groups, including Planned Parenthood, UltraViolet, Women’s March and MoveOn. The local event is co-sponsored by Women’s March Southern Oregon, Planned Parenthood, ORD2 Indivisible, and the RV Pepper Shakers (the good Shakers!)
