Anti-Racism Study Group-1st Saturdays, 10:30am-Noon, Zoom-Begins Oct 2

For the last two years a number of RVUUFians have been participating in an Anti-Racism Study Group focused on understanding how we have been influenced by the racially-biased structures that underlie the economic, cultural, educational and political structures of the environment in which we were raised.  One study group started 2 years ago.  A second was started 1 year ago.  We will be starting a third study group and ask you to join us in exploring this very important societal and religious issue in the spirit of developing a more open and accepting Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.

This third study group will meet on Zoom one Saturday morning each month, 10:30 to noon, starting the first Saturday in October. As this is short notice, we still welcome those who may miss the first meeting. We will be using two books to guide our discussion, White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo and Centering, a collection of experiential writings by UU ministers and religious educators of color.  We will also be doing imaging exercises to assist our readings and discussion.

In addition, the new study group members will meet with the other study groups in a combined group meeting on the 3rd Saturday of each month for approximately 1-1/2 hours to share experiences and develop strategies to expand understanding of this very important spiritual awakening.
