As we look toward the year ahead, the Board has identified congregational growth and building a broader, more diverse demographic as critical goals for RVUUF. That work begins, in part, with how we present ourselves to the wider community.
The sale of Emerson House has allowed us to re-establish our required restricted funds – those special funds designated for specific purposes, depleted in the last few years to keep RVUUF afloat. One of these newly reimbursed funds is our local Restricted Building Fund, managed by the Building and Grounds Committee.
This year, the committee is focusing on two related goals: improving our building’s curb appeal and providing new, attractive, and inviting signage.
Our building is often the first impression someone has of RVUUF. Before a visitor walks through our doors, they encounter our exterior – and our sign.
So, as we begin this conversation, we invite you to look at our current sign and its location with fresh eyes. What does it say about who we are? And what might we want it to say?
Stay tuned for Part 2.
