Summer Solstice Ritual

LET’S ALL CELEBRATE THE SUMMER SOLSTICE!

Welcome to all RVUUFians and their guests at this greatest light of the year! We–RVUUF’s Seasonal Rituals Group–will gather in fellowship on RVUUF’s Side Yard (or indoors if weather requires). We will hear background information, then do a procession, then do music and ritual in a Cermonial Circle under the Sun!

We will measure the Sun’s angle at high noon. We will honor the human life stage called Adulthood. We will acknowledge traditional themes of the Cardinal Direction South. We will conclude with Community Time.

You may wear a bit (or a lot) of something yellow, but this is optional. Bring a Sign of the Season–a blossom or a twig or a fruit or vegetable to place upon our altar. For outdoor ritual, wear sunscreen, a sun hat, comfortable clothing, and bring water. Some chairs will be available, though some of us may be on our feet for the hour. You can actively participate in the ritual, or just observe and marvel.

Especially, we hope you will bring your curiosity–and your gratitude to be living on a Planet that circles the Sun!

This event will be Saturday, June 22, starting promptly at 1:00 p.m. and ending around 2:00 p.m. Bring your friends!
