Patty Duggan Passed Away on Dec 31

“Patty Duggan, beloved member of RVUUF for 17 years passed on Sunday, December 31 from esophageal cancer at the age of 89. In addition to the many warm items she made and donated to those in need in the Rogue Valley, she belonged to several RVUUF committees and was a welcoming presence on Sunday mornings.”
– Michael Honkomp, Patty’s son in law

“In the Spring, when the threat of Covid and flu have subsided, we want to have a ‘Gathering of Friends’ at RVUUF in honor of Patty Duggan — a time when we can sing and dance and hear jazz played in her honor.

But for now we need something less crowd-intensive. So we are creating ‘Patty’s Book’, a collection of our memories of Patty. We hope to receive from Patty’s friends and loved ones submissions of:

  • Pictures, photos, and original drawings;
  • Notes “To Patty”, perhaps some thank you notes;
  • Poetry, perhaps a haiku or poem you know she would like;
  • A copy of a sheet of music she enjoyed, or a copy of a CD cover;
  • Images from movies and plays that she especially enjoyed;
  • Photos/drawings of her beloved watershed domain, and the bears that knew her;
  • Pictures of the costumes she worked on at OSF;
  • A cookie recipe, either yours or hers;
    … and whatever else comes to mind. We want to say, ‘THIS is our Patty!’

Please be sure to include your own name, so we can create a List of Friends.

DEADLINE: Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2024

We will leave the completed ‘Patty’s Book’ at RVUUF for a month or so, then send it to her family so that future generations will know what a special lady she was.

Please mail or drop your item off at RVUUF (Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship) at 87 Fourth Street, Ashland, OR 97520. RVUUF is at the corner of 4th and B Streets.

Feel free to contact me with any questions!
