In six months since we started making dinners for guests at the OHRA Resource Center, we’ve made 1352 dinners. I could never do it alone. Every week I thank my lucky stars for all the volunteers who join me in this project.

And RVUUF’s tradition of feeding people in need goes much longer than that. Look at this history that adds up to 4372 dinners! And that doesn’t even count the years when OHRA guests stayed in our own sanctuary on Thursdays and we brought food. Lots of people in this fellowship have contributed over the years.

• Winter 2018-2019, OHRA at church site on E Main, 45 guests x 16 weeks = 720 dinners
• Winter 2019-2020 (until COVID shut it down) OHRA at church site on E Main, 45 guests x 12 weeks = 540 dinners (plus breakfast food)
• Winter 2020-2021, OHRA at First Presbyterian Church, 30 guests x 12 weeks = 360 dinners
• Winter 2021 until May 2022, Rogue Retreats at church site on E Main, 40 guests x 35 weeks = 1400 dinners
• And now! We started cooking for the OHRA Resource Center on Ashland St in Oct 2022, 52 guests x 26 weeks = 1352 dinners

Maybe someone who’s been around longer than I have would like to make a guess at the total number of dinners our congregation has made – or correct any of my estimates.
