The Purpose of the Family Nurturing Center is to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect. We help parents keep their children safely within their own families. We support children as they heal from difficult life experiences. We wrap an array of services around families in crisis helping them rebuild their lives and raise healthy and thriving children. The Family Nurturing Center (FNC) is a community-based non-profit child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention program serving high risk families with children under age six. One of 23 Relief Nurseries in Oregon, FNC is making a difference in the lives of children and families by providing a blend of intensive support and interventions to break the patterns of abuse and neglect. The FNC focuses on the needs of children, their parents, and the family as a unit by offering supportive services to keep children safe and families together. We opened our first center in Jackson County in May 2006 – this center has grown from a single group of two toddlers and their families, to an organization that has served over 1,000 children in its short history. In August of 2014 the Family Nurturing Center expanded services into Grants Pass with the opening of the Josephine County Children’s Relief Nursery.
