Last September, participants in the anti-racism study group presented a worship service in which they described what they had learned. The designated recipient for the plate collection that day was the Southern Oregon Coalition for Racial Equity, a local group whose goals coincided closely with those of the study groups. Since that time, the Coalition has been disbanded as the principals set off in different directions to achieve their goals. The SJA has decided that the donations that were collected for them will instead be given to BASE Southern Oregon, another local group combating racism, to which RVUUF members have generously contributed in the past.  More information about BASE is available at their website.
