Religious Explorations raised more than $105 through a spare-change money drive. The purpose of the spare-change campaign was to finance a service project.

The children voted to use this money to support three animals — Tundra (a wolf), Clark (a cougar) and Petri (an owl) — through the Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center in Grants Pass.

Wildlife Images provides care and treatment to sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. It also provides educational programs on wildlife, conservation and the environment.

Animals that are unable to be returned to the wild act as “ambassadors, teaching children and adults about the beauty of our native species, the importance of conservation and ways to be a responsible steward of our natural world” (Wildlife Images, Adoptions).

The hundreds of animals brought to the center often need specialized care. “Adoptions” by the public help Wildlife Images care for these animals.

The children at RVUUF will contribute $25 toward the care of each of their three animals. For their contributions, they will receive an “adoption certificate” and a fact sheet about each of their animals.

The remaining funds that were raised through our spare-change drive will be donated for habitat conservation or restoration efforts.
