The Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA)’s Chief Operating Officer Harlan Limpert was among UUs gathered with water protectors for an interfaith day of prayer, Dec. 4, 2016 at Standing Rock.

As reported by the UUA: “Prayer turned to celebration as news broke that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will not approve an easement that would allow the proposed Dakota Access Pipeline to cross under Lake Oahe in North Dakota.”

Limpert shared a few photos from his experience, including this depiction of the Interfaith Living Yurt, a place for people of faith to come for rest and renewal.

Standing in front of the yurt is the Rev. Karen Brammer who has been at Standing Rock since Nov. 15, providing help to the Rev. Karen Van Fossan and others at the Bismarck-Mandan UU Congregation.
