Much of the power now being wielded in our nation is ugly and tyrannical. But when we put love at the center of our lives, we are led to envision a gentler kind of power that is not coercive or dominating, but mutual and co-operative. Is this kind of “relational power” just an accident of human evolution or does it tell us something about the ultimate nature of reality? And do we call that larger reality “God,” the “Spirit of Life,” the “Interdependent Web,” “Beauty, Truth, and Goodness,” or just the nameless mystery? The Chalice Choir will sing during this service.
