The RVUUF Board would like to share that our fellowship is participating in the UUA’s Special Care Congregation process. We see this as an opportunity to strengthen our governance and congregational life. The support, training, and resources available through this program are provided as part of RVUUF’s affiliation with the UUA, so we do not expect significant additional costs. We look forward to engaging thoughtfully together.
We’re still learning what this will involve and what the timeline will look like. We will continue to share updates as our understanding evolves. Some members may remember RVUUF’s previous experience with Special Care; because every situation is different, we expect this work to be tailored to RVUUF’s current needs and goals.
As we move forward, you can expect continued growth and change, and you can also expect the Board to communicate openly about what we are learning.
Your questions, perspectives, and ideas remain an important part of this journey, as they have been in the past. We have already begun to use last fall’s survey results in helping chart a new path for RVUUF. Additionally, the focus group work led by Zoe Laidlaw, Adrienne Simmons, and Eva Skuratowicz will continue to inform our shared work as a congregation. We encourage you to reach out to any Board member you feel comfortable speaking with; contact information is available in Breeze. By moving forward together with openness, curiosity, and mutual respect, we trust this work will help strengthen our fellowship for the future.
