Adopted Highway Litter Patrol Restarting

RVUUF Adopt-a-Highway activities have been on hold since the Pandemic. It’s time to revisit whether the congregation finds value in this project, and if we wish to continue. In the past, litter volunteers removed trash from the right-of-way on a two-mile stretch along South Stage Road in Medford in the Spring and Fall. This is an opportunity for members (youth included) to provide a public service, improve the appearance of the county road system, and get some exercise.

We need to determine if we want to continue or if the project has come to an end. We are looking for members, friends, and neighbors interested in being on the Litter Patrol. In the past we’ve had about 6-8 individuals working on the project. It would typically take about four hours for the group to complete the litter removal. New volunteers need to be physically able to walk two miles while bending and stooping, sign a waiver, view a Safety Training DVD, have sturdy leather shoes and gloves. A sign-up sheet will be available on Sunday April 5 and 12, 2026 to determine interest.
