RVUUF adopt-a-highway activities have been on hold since the Pandemic, and a couple of RVUUFians are working to revive it. Frank Jones signed up a few volunteers after the service last week and hopes to get more this week. He’ll also answer any questions you may have.
In the past, participants picked up and removed litter from the right-of-way on a stretch along So Stage Rd in Medford. They did it twice a year – in the Spring and the Fall, when the temperature is comfortable.
With all the transportation budget issues, the county will no longer have the resources to clean the roadway. That makes this an extra important opportunity for RVUUFians of all ages to provide a public service, improve the appearance of the county road system and get some exercise – together!
New volunteers need to be able to walk while bending and stooping. They sign a waiver and view a short safety training video. They also need to have sturdy shoes and gloves.
