Through the generosity of the RVUUF community we were able to donate $577 to our September 3rd Sunday Recipient, Jackson County Fuel Committee!
Jackson County Fuel Committee (JCFC) is dedicated to addressing the disparity between the lack of access to heat for thousands of low-income workers and families and the abundance of heating resources in the area. They help over 260 households stay warm each winter by providing emergency firewood, help with advocacy to prevent utility shutoffs, and provide weatherization to cut heating costs. You can read more about the vital work JCFC does on their website.
JCFC volunteers give their time, skills, and resources to help fight for improved living conditions in the low-income community. They are an all volunteer organization, with no paid staff. Volunteer participation is open to anyone wanting to work towards ensuring keeping our friends, neighbors, and community members warm. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can contact Volunteer Coordinator Shea Cathey at 541-488-2905.
Thanks for your contribution to the ongoing work of this local organization.
