Our group ritual for the Summer Solstice was quite successful! Our next celebration is the Cross Quarter Day known in Gaelic as Lughnasa, the Festival of Lugh. Its themes include Midlife, Humor, Community, and the Heat of the Year. Optional colors to wear are deep, rich yellow and/or reddish-tan. We recommend a sun hat, sunscreen, and perhaps a bottle of water. Do you have tasty ripe fruit to share? It will be welcome. Also bring a Sign of the Season for the altar: blossom, leaf, garden produce, etc. Can you share a BRIEF pun, one-liner, or riddle? Or sing, dance, etc? You may be asked to be a reader or helper. Of course, bring your friends! Lughnasa happens only once a year! Contact Vern Crawford for more information. Our ritual will take place outdoors in the RVUUF sideyard (weather permitting) or under the balcony indoors if needed.
