Pacific Northwest District (UUA)

2011 District Assembly

Date:
Sat, 02/05/2011 - 9:00am - 5:00pm

PNWDSat, Feb 5, 2011. You won’t want to miss the 2011 PNWD District Assembly at First Unitarian Church in Portland with special guest Dr. Ysaye Barnwell (Sweet Honey In the Rock).

Embracing Joy! Spirit, Art and Activism. This very special District Assembly will be grounded in imagery and the senses, color and sound, movement and poetry. Come experience how the arts can open the heart, provide an awareness of the Holy, and spark a joyful impulse to heal the world. Join Unitarian Universalists from throughout our District as we experience and celebrate the Spirit of Life that lives within us and among us!

Keynote presenter Dr. Ysaye Barnwell will set the stage for exploring our theme in the morning, followed by a wide variety of inspirational and spiritually renewing workshops in the afternoon, including an “in-depth” workshop with Barnwell. Workshops will fill quickly, so register today. The day will end with a celebration worship conducted by Rev. Bill Sinkford, senior minister at First Church, and others.

Chalice Lighters

The PNWD Chalice Lighter Program is a wonderful way for us to connect with our UU congregations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Please see Janet Dolan for an application to become a Chalice Lighter. As a member you will receive three calls per year in the mail asking for a minimum contribution of $10 per call to support a congregation that has asked for a grant to help support their growth. If you have any questions, contact Dave Baker, our Denominational Affairs Coordinator.
