Silent and Live Auction

Date:
Fri, 05/20/2011 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Location:

RVUUF

trainFri, May 20, 6-9pm. Our auction is the largest annual fundraiser for RVUUF, and it is so much fun. First, there will be a silent auction, where you walk around and enter bids on bid sheets for items that interest you. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served during the silent auction. Then there will be a live auction where an auctioneer facilitates the bidding. For a complete list of silent and live auction items, see our catalog. At the end of the auction, you pay for all items that you have won.

  • Invite friends outside of RVUUF to join you for the event. Invite those you have not seen for awhile or make it a part of a family reunion. Invitation Flyer. How about a girl's night out? Ask new visitors to RVUUF who might enjoy getting to know us better.
  • Childcare will be available so you may enjoy the evening knowing your young ones are nearby.
  • Ask for, or be, a Bidding Buddy. If you know that you cannot attend but want to participate, request someone (a Bidding Buddy) to bid for you. Consider being a Bidding Buddy for someone who cannot attend…what fun to spend someone else’s money! Contact Maria Geigel if interested.
  • The auction catalog is available online here; paper catalogs will be available at the RVUUF Office during normal hours. Tickets ($10) will be available in advance at the Office and at the door.

Meet the Pioneers: DVD viewing

Date:
Mon, 08/03/2009 - 7:00pm - 8:00pm

pioneersGlen Paris, a producer for RVTV, has created a DVD of Meet The Ashland Pioneers which we will show at the Fellowship on Monday, August 3rd at 7pm. In addition to the actors, she has included music, and photos of the woolen mill, and some of the pioneers' gravestones and homes.

Delores Nims said, "I was blown away by the power of this video. For the first time I understood how we brought the pioneers to life."

Thank you to all the people who helped to make "Meet the Ashland Pioneers" a success. We had about 340 people take the tour and raised $3,430 dollars, $2400 of which is profit. Half of that goes to RVUUF and half to Art in the Valley Schools. I will keep you informed about the Art project as it unfolds. If you know of artists in Jacksonville, Medford, Central Point, Phoenix, and Talent, please e-mail Delores Nims with names and phone numbers.

We will repeat this event next year with different characters and stories, so if you have suggestions please e-mail Delores; also I am interested in people who would like to do the research which will begin in Sep or Oct.

If you want to be considered for an acting part please e-mail Delores. Jan Waitt who has a masters degree in theatrical directing will be our director and drama coach next year and assist with casting.
