Tamara Marston has been an actor, singer and director in the Rogue Valley for over 15 years, and has been the Music Director for the RVUUF since 2004. A career performer / musician, Tami has toured nationally with several groups and recently appeared at The Lincoln Center in Colorado in the role of Ruth in Pirates of Penzance with Southern California's Opera a la Carte company.
A lifelong lover of choral singing, Tami currently sings with the Southern Oregon Repertory Singers, and is often featured as a soloist in local and regional choirs (including the Siskiyou Singers' productions of Mendelssohn's Elijah, Handel's Semele, and McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio.
In her capacity as actor, Tami works frequently at the Oregon Cabaret Theater and other local theater companies, in such shows as Nickeled and Dimed, Nunsense, Kathy and Mo, Annie, Woody Guthrie's American Song and Cindy Rella. She also teaches privately and is a staff instructor with Southern Oregon University's Elderhostel program, and has recently branched out into stage directing.
With a diverse background in a myriad of music styles from classic choral to the Beatles to Broadway and with a particular love of the folk music genre and an appreciation for the world's vast array of music traditions Tami's goal is to weave all these genres into the rich texture of RVUUF's services.
"I know music to be a glue which brings and bonds people together. Unity and harmony can and often do begin with music and song and branch out into our lives -- and our community -- from there."
