Steps to Membership: If you are interested in becoming a member of RVUUF,
Contact the Membership Committee or the Minister. The first step is to attend an orientation meeting, either
Welcome to RVUUF, which is generally held on the first Sunday of the month from noon to 1pm, or
Getting to Know RVUUF, a three-week evening orientation. Check below (or the
online Calendar) for the next orientation meetings.
Membership Brochure
Background: The Membership Committee is one of the requisite committees essential for the basic functioning of the Fellowship (
Bylaws 14.13). The chair is appointed by the Board for a two-year term (
Bylaws 14.5). The Membership Committee is largely responsible for implementing the Membership Initiative of RVUUF’s
Strategic Plan.
Purpose:
- Welcome members, friends, and visitors during Sunday services.
- Facilitate integration of new members into the Fellowship.
- Sustain the current membership.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a welcoming Greeting Team at every Sunday service.
- Maintain names and addresses of visitors.
- Coordinate orientations for visitors.
- Respond to prospective new member inquiries.
- Assure UUA brochures and RVUUF information are readily available.
- Assist with new member recognition ceremonies.
- Provide special events for new members.
- Coordinate Circle Dinners.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Maintain current tally of RVUUF membership.
- Explore ways to increase membership.
