Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (RVUUF) Ashland, OR

The Universalist and Unitarian denominations united in 1961 to form the Unitarian Universalist Association. In this country, both groups began in the late 1700s as liberal Christian spin-offs. Although they had similar values, there were differences in theology (Universalists stressing salvation for all and Unitarians a single not trinitarian deity). During the 200 years before joining together, they had distinct histories, heroes and causes. We will explore their differences and similarities during the month of September.

Sep 26: “Words and Deeds of Remarkable Unitarians...” who embodied the second UU living tradition which challenges us to “confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion and the transforming power of love.” Bring favorite quotations by Unitarians, living or dead. Eileen Adee will facilitate discussion.
