Curriculum
Our goal is that when students are here, they are immersed in a UU environment and that every experience - from play time and snacks to lessons and activities - provide opportunities for them to witness, experience, explore, discover, and practice Unitarian Universalism principles and concepts. We use any resource that will help us accomplish that goal.
The current Director of Education has worked for several years to expand and upgrade the fellowship's education resources. The emerging RE Resource Center will house all our curriculum and teaching materials, and soon students of all ages will be able to peruse our collection and borrow items needed for a presentation, a program, a visit from grandchildren, family time, or personal edification.
The RVUUF RE program uses appropriate teaching materials from many sources. Some are developed and sold independently by UU DREs and authors. Sometimes it's easier to get a quick overview and understanding of an unfamiliar religion, culture, or concept from children's books. Some of the materials are recommended through district and national RE networking and comes from other publishing companies. Other valuable teaching materials and resources are "discovered" by our staff. Some are actually written and designed by our own staff.
