The American Council on Gift Annuities is lowering the rates for charitable gift annuities established after June 30, 2008. The present rate for a couple, ages 63 and 65, who establishes a $10,000 gift annuity is 5.6%, after June 30 it would be 5.3%. For a single person age 70 the current rate is 6.5% and after June 30 it would be 6.1%.
